as a child of the 80s – the finest decade of plastic faff – i consider myself a connoisseur of plastic trinkets. hearts, rainbows, stars etc are always welcome in my life. my bedroom was well populated by sanrio, eraser collections, and sensory-overloading stickers (with all the sniffing, and the flocking and the sparkle-arkle – its no wonder i can’t concentrate on anything these days!)

For real! Plastic goodies of OUR era are the best! Sanrio will always hold a special place in my heart:) pretty sure I had that smiling snack bowl. Great finds!
hannah – i wish i’d kept some of the wonky translated kawaii things from my childhood. i had a memo pad that had some cute kids and animals drawn on it with this speech bubble saying something along the lines of “hello, my name is potato milk, these are my friends celery of a donky, egg of a cat” etc etc BIZARRE! so sad i don’t still have it.
