tra la la! i wish my regular posts had theme songs. just imagine i’m singing this: its time for decorate! pilgrim, where i decorate using one of my prints. this month its the woodland patchwork, available for purchase here.
inspired by my son’s room (which really does feature this print) this is a whimsical woodland inspired bedroom. i’ve picked out the fresh greens and mustards as a not-too overwhelming major color. the fresh greens mixed with woodgrain and that striking teal sideboard means the room is colourful without being too in yo face. cute playful touches include the owl cushion and the log cushions on the bed, and of course my print. chuck in some orange storage boxes to hide the real toys away in that sideboard and no one will know how wild this woodland can get!
but what about those of us who are only young at heart? well here is a sophisticated, naturally inspired sitting room. a comfy leather chair, those rustic wood tables, and a colorful patchwork rug tie in with the colors of the print, but leave the whimsy strictly within the picture frame! i’m thinking a nice cozy wood cabin is the place for this room.
and lastly its an all out celebration of color and fun. sure its probably too much, but there isn’t a single piece in this room that doesn’t make me smile. i like the colors, but i also love the lines and the textures. i think it would be a room that would encourage play and imagination. also, i want an elephant stool!

Love! Especially the boys bedroom. I have a squirrel lamp here that would fit in perfectly!x
PS can you please come and decorate my house?
allison – oooh a squirrel lamp?! and no i don’t think you need my help decorating – in fact your house was in the herald sun the week before my bedroom was! it looked gorgeous as i remember, and not in need on anyone’s help
I love these decorate! pilgrim posts. I am singing some theme music in my head, I am! Anyway, that bedroom is so very awesome. Love it.
emily – aww yay! it’ll just be you and me singing hehe
Pilgrim these are so clever! I love the way that you’ve made these disparate bits look like they belong together. Very cool.
sandra – thanks, i must admit to really liking putting them together. its a bit of a hunt on polyvore but i love a good challenge!
Ooooh! Mature woodland – amazing!
