my grandma roma (who always got called rowie) loved traveling. and judging by the collection of postcards i have from her she was on the go non-stop from the late 60s to the late 70s! as people of excellent taste, i thought you all might enjoy seeing the interesting stamps & postmarks from her postcards she sent home. as you can see, she went almost everywhere!

i’m feeling a bit poorly today, so i’m sending myself this groovy greeting from the collection of peta pledger (sale on now!). isn’t it cute? i really like the iron bed frame design and the charming brush script.

my super fantastic friend peta pledger (who makes amazing vintage style dresses for me and is also the next best thing to a life coach/psychiatrist) has an amaaaazing collection of vintage ephemera. and being the super fantastic friend she is, she let me borrow some of it for a while and paw all over her precious finds and generally go bananas and photograph it to share with you! so occasionally you’ll be seeing things ‘from the collection of ms peta pledger’. i’m calling them ‘groovy greetings’ because i like cheesy alliterations. first up, a very cute invitation card for a ‘kitchen tea’.
if i recall correctly a kitchen tea is like a bridal shower, but you give kitchen themed gifts, so- toasters ahoy. i really don’t get the wedding shower party type things but if you get cards like this its ok by me! this makes me think of some groovy bride to be getting all sorts of cute kitchen stuff. most of it orange. some of it with toadstools on it.
