dear santa,

you know, and i know, that i’ve been REALLY good this year. so lets stop this messin’ around and howsabout you bring me some of these treasures on my love list?


i’m not sure i even need to TELL you why i want this brooch by ‘friends with you’?! its just cool! and i have several lapels going unadorned at the current time.

books! books! books! i can never ever get enough. this christmas i’m wishing for:

just when i think i’ve had enough of the stem pattern, along comes a bright yellow bag to prove otherwise. the orla kiely stem sparrow bag really needs to be in my wardrobe, and more often, on my arm.

all you need is love. in pin brooch form! a souvenir brooch from gemma’s bright signs show is just what i need to keep my OTHER lapel cozy.

and now my son is too big for blocks i suppose i have to just call these alexander girard blocks an executive desk toy? better become an executive quick smart!!

so thats just about it for me, santa. oh and if you could just go ahead and drop in a couple of airfares to new york via tokyo that’d be greeeaaaaat.

BAM! let’s start this wish list off right! how you like them apples! and by apples i mean that camera. it’s what happens when a camera and a pair of rollerskates love each other very much.. i imagine. i love it very much and you can buy one here.

bunting is here to stay. i have decreed it. and what better way to make sure you’re never without bunting than by wearing a tatty devine bunting necklace. make sure its always party time, at least around your neck.. or wherever else you might string this, i’m not one to pry.

okay. deep breath. this is really why we’re all here today, people. i just can’t quit this bag. let’s not talk about the price, or the fact that i’ve had dirty dreams about getting my hands on this beauty. don’t get me wrong, the other satchels are very nice, but i like pockets, and compartments, and, oh! slouchiness. if wanting was $ i’d already have a dozen of these bags. buy me one yours here.

this one is less of a wish list thing and more of an oprah’s favorite things you-get-a-soap-and-you-get-a-soap kinda thing. except no one gets any soap unless they buy some themselves.. but you should buy some of this soap because its simply delicious. i have the ‘rozan paradise rose’ scent and not only is it lush on the skin, it leaves one smelling like a piece of turkish delight. it’s not a sickly rose, its a sophisticated, subtle, complex rose. and the other ‘flavors’ (why can i never say ‘scent’ or ‘perfume’.. it always comes out ‘flavor’, so lets say ‘nose flavor’) are just as good. these soaps are not your usual suspects. seek them out wherever good baths are taken. or help wash away my shame buy buying one via my amazon affiliate link.

by the way, no one needs to feel pressured to click my amazon links, i just think its hilarious to be overtly overt about them. and rest assured, i only buy excellent books that help me do better work with any amazon commission. i would show you, but that would be a crude and shameless excuse to pepper my post with affiliate links. and i’m far to classy for that.

welcome to my wishlist for this month. there is eye candy a plenty, though now you mention it some actual candy would be nice too..

top of the wishlist this month is this GROOVY vintage blacklight butterfly print from leadpipe posters. i have nowhere to hang this except for in my mind, but it makes me sooo happy. look at those far out colors!

this book isn’t out yet but i’m dying for it! indicators its gonna be good: its published by chronicle. its called ‘vintage craft workshop’. and its written by cathy callahan. i say when it comes out, you all come over and we have a craftalong til we’ve made everything in the book!

adorable kate spade raffia tote aside, i love this ‘live colorfully’ one-color-per-month thing kate spade are doing this year. so much fun, right? i can’t wait to see if there is purple or turquoise coming. in the meantime i can gaze longingly at this sweet springtime tote.

love is the mug for me. need i say more?!

its party time!? YAY! this spindly starburst clock looks like its capped with gumballs. anything with anything resembling gumballs is alllllright by me!

what’s on your list this month?

yay! i’m excited to show you this month’s wishlist items – i feel like i haven’t done a wishlist since december. oh wait, i haven’t! i was very lucky at christmas and got a bunch of things from my list. i thought the grateful thing to do was just enjoy those treasures and stop eyeing off new things for a while. but now i’m back and more covetous than ever haha!

let’s start with this sixties tipped coat by boden. i know, i know… just take a deep breath and recover first. this is on my wishlist but it will never make my wardrobe – a) i look like a corpse when i wear yellow, and b) fortunately for my bank account that style doesn’t flatter my curves. but let’s dwell in the world of make believe for a moment… oh coat, you’re too cute! and kudos to boden for yet again embracing bold color and cute detailing.

cute 70s inspired design? check. love heart? check. you can put it in your hair? check. this is just about perfection to me. my hair is looking forward to meeting the band-do love barette.

does betty ford help with fruit addictions? because i have a fever and the only cure is MORE GRAPHIC FRUIT. these lotta külhorn pear mugs need to come live with me in my house of apples and pears. i’d buy this modcloth pear wallet too, but lets face it, with all the fruit buyin’ i do it’d be one empty wallet.

what was that about a fruit addiction? well maybe the cure is some marimekko vegetable napkins. the first step is knowing i have a problem, the second step is including vegetables in my addiction. at least its a balanced addiction!

ok, lets move away from the fruit and veg and talk about these peachy socks! first, i adore the new kate spade logo. so simple and perfect. and after years and years and years of nasty supermarkets-bought socks that get lost and mismatched and faded and revolting i have turned over a new leaf. from the start of this year i’ve turfed the faded and old and have spent good money on good socks. i don’t wear socks that often, but when i do i don’t believe it should be a demoralizing affair. so cute socks it is, and these are definitely cute socks. please tell me i’m not alone in my shameful sock past. maybe we can start a support group.

it’s almost chriiiiiiiiiiistmas! father christmas, are you reading? i think my friends and i would like to find these following items sub-tree.

oh. ma. gah. this baby, the zoku quick pop system makes frozen treats in like, SEVEN minutes!!! it could be black magic, voodoo, gypsy curse etc but frankly i don’t care because this is the bestest thing i’ve seen since the magic bullet. and you should see the accessories you can get for it to make really really seriously deeply fancy treats. want. want! waaaaaaaaaaaaaant.

i do believe this alexander girard nativity set is on every graphically inclined person’s wishlist. i’m not into nativity scenes but i would fall over myself to own anything alexander girard and is it not the coolest looking set you’ve seen?

truth bomb: this ‘type trumps’ game isn’t on my wish list – because i got it last christmas! and its so fun i wanted to share it. everyone loves typography. everyone. and if they don’t like typography i don’t know them. so buy this for everyone you know and while away those lazy holiday hours FORCING your relatives to take an interest in type!

i’m lucky to already own a couple of sanna annukka prints, but there is always room for more. her angel of the north print seems fittingly festive, wouldn’t you say?

and father christmas – pay attention, because this one is important, and won’t be around for next christmas! dig this: dog dreams, a 20 page limited edition letterpressed board book by michael wertz. so cool it could’ve been crafted in the icy tundra of the northpole!

so, father christmas the rest is up to you. don’t disappoint us.

as a longtime fan of rian hughes’ work it excited me to no end that there are now books of his inspirations to swoon over. i’m definitely hoping santa leaves these under the tree for me!

lord dunsby aka steven millington is new to me, but his style is fabulously reminiscent! this re imagining of a serge gainsbourg album cover is exceptionally cheeky – i like it and i bet serge would too. i adore the typography.

the undeniable charisma dress, available from modcloth

this dress is breaking my heart a bit… the style just never suits me, but oh!! that color.. the bow.. the waist tabs! its all too gorgeous i can’t bear it.

a fabulously colorful and fun looking doll house. its almost as colorful as my house. now if i could juuust convince my son he needs this we’ll be set.

and you know there always has to be some jonathan adler on the ‘love list’. i nearly gasped myself into an aneurysm when i saw there were christmas ornaments! imagine having a turquoise branch tree festooned with these porcelain beauties. striking and seasonal!

oh jonathan adler, why do you do this to me? its like you steal my dreams at night and then make me spend all my money on those dream items. its torture is what it is. at least give me a job as a designer so i can get a staff discount on my dreams. buy yours here.

are my love lists getting too one note? i feel like there is always some lunch box cuteness, but people – i can’t tell you how much i love lunch boxes! they’re so useful. i use them for my son’s snacks even when we’re just hanging out at home. food seems a bit more fun when its in a cute plastic box. buy yours here.

eek! its a giant chocolate freckle for your floor! oh i love these rugs. i have no space for one in my house but the fact that they exist is enough for me. wouldn’t these be amazing in a child’s room? the colours, the textures, the whimsy. you should definitely buy one from here.

now these i have room for! apples and pears and candles oh my! which should i choose? i think i like the pears best. imagine a load of them hung in a tree for a summer’s evening picnic? yes please, pass the pimms. buy yours here.
