i’m moving into my studio soon (just as soon as i’m done painting it) so to make it a little easier, i’m clearing out some stock – literally lightening the load. for a limited time there is 20% off everything in the draw! pilgrim store. get in FAST because a) i never have sales and b) its LIMITED TIME ONLY. also, buy buying my stuff you’re giving me more money to make NEW things. and the new things i have in the works are aaaaaawesome.. but i can’t afford to get them done without your help!

if you can’t spare the cash to buy anything (don’t worry, we can still be friends) at least help me spread the word and lets get the sale shakin’ because i hate packing boxes and moving!

time machine: best of the blog december 2010

some fun stuff you might have missed on drawpilgrim.com in december ’10:

i shared a printable color-in christmas angel (in case you’re having a christmas-in-july party)

a slice of my life: 7by7 shows the week i launched some button badges and more!

decorate! pilgrim: three rooms inspired by my scandinavian folk print

hey remember that time my print was the pull-out in frankie magazine? yep. i’m still pinching myself about that one.

and i showed you all how to make a cute pen case for your filofax!

as seen on etsy: lookin' fine lines

i’m loving graphic line worky goodness this week. there is an arabia/finel bias here, but they sure knew how to do it right!

do you remember i told you about my screen printing course? well, last saturday i finished it up. at the end of the first class we coated our screens with photo emulsion, so at the start of the last class we exposed them to the UV light. It was a pretty fancy set up, with a vacuum chamber to put the screens in while they were being exposed. i bought some calico bags to print on, and the bag pictured below is the finished result.

draw! pilgrim calico bag

the bag was printed using 2 layers, both exposed on the same screen (but divided by tape): one of pink opaque ink, and 1 of transparent red ink. the contrast between the 2 layers is more apparent in person, but then again it could just be my computer screen.

what do you think of my bag? i carried it with me on my trip last week and got a few compliments. it sure is exciting being able to carry some artwork around with me. i am definitely looking forward to making some more!

the vine

some of you may have noticed this… i know, i sneakily tucked it into the link ’round up on friday, but ego be damned, here it is again! the gorgeous gemma paid me a visit and whipped up this lovely piece about me for the vine!

and make sure you go and visit gemma’s site cos her work is pop-tastic! i’m especially looking forward to seeing the “milkbars, laundromats and urban beauty” show next month.

all future interviews should come with iced vo-vo biscuits (for the uninitiated, they’re the finest, frilliest, pinkest biscuit one can enjoy in australia – if not the world!). i might have to put that in my rider!

anyway i hope you enjoyed the peek inside my studio, and thanks again to gemma!

I’ve been playing in the Vintage Fabrics flickr pool. Come on in, the water is… floral!
